Hi --
I was wondering how/if it is possible to swap some of the default amarok icons with other images. Changing the image files in /usr/share/kde4/apps/amarok/icons works only partially (and seems to have caused a crash...). Specifically, I was fiddling around trying to replace the podcast-amarok.png with the image here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Podcast-icon.svg I thought it would look nice (it does!) and would make it easier to distinguish between downloaded/not downloaded episodes (I can't ever see that little blue arrow very well). I cropped and scaled the image to 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48 and copied it to the /usr/share/kde4/apps/amarok/icons/SIZE/actions directories, but it only appeared in a few places in amarok, and not the one I wanted (the episode list), plus it caused all manner of weirdness, so I switched back. Would these images need to be changed at compile-time instead? Also, since the licensing on that image is CC, might it be considered as a replacement for the current images? cheers. |

In order for this to come into effect correctly you need to do the following:
1) Update the icon, then close Amarok 2) Remove the contents of /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/kpc/ 3) Start Amarok again. Note that Plasma and other KDE applications may crash as a result of the removal of the kpc/* files, thus logging out to perform the removal will be the best way to avoid crashes.

Awesome -- thanks!
It turns out I was also forgetting to make 22x22 images -- oops... One thing I have been wondering for a while is where the 'podcast episode is downloaded' icon is stored (the tiny blue diamond/arrow that indicates a podcast episode has been downloaded). I've looked through all the amarok image directories, but can't seem to find it... is it hidden in the default-theme-clean.svg image? thanks. |

It is probably part of the standard Oxygen icons.

hmm -- potentially. However, changing widget themes doesn't seem to affect that image (other images in amarok change, just not that one).
