Ubuntu dropped tool tips in ubuntu 10.04, so can't hover over amarok icon for song info. Is there an alternative besides having to restore amarok? What a ugly change in ubuntu. I hate it.

You can enable On Screen Display (OSD) although that's not quite what you want. Settings > Configure Amarok > Notifications. You might try using KNotify -- I think that capability is pulled in at installation.

Play with it; one of them might help you until tooltips return to Ubuntu. Or -- you could try Kubuntu.
