I read with interest this link:

and idly wondered whether it's possible to get a mobile version of Amarok going? espec. on the N900, where the Nokia media player is not so good.
If the kdelibs can build on maemo then it's a small step to a mobile UI variant of amarok ? With the upcoming meego devices it may be worth a look. Happy to be a tester.

We're slowly but surely working on it. Don't expect things to move as fast as the KDE-PIM mobile initiative. They have some people working on it full time.
We will use the work they and kde-mobile does on kdelibs and build a new mobile centric UI. We will also use Qt Quick to create this UI.
