When I right click some artist or album in my local collection, I can apparently copy my music to some "other" collection... But I haven't figured out how to even add another collection besides the default 'local collection'. It would be nice, if I could add my mp3 player as a temporary collection and copy music to it this way. I remember that some time ago when I plugged my external drive in, it appeared in Amarok. But it doesn't anymore. Well I don't have the same hard drive here right now, but it doesn't work for my Android phone. Is there something I could do about it?

Well, every Media Source holds it's own collection, so if you add a media player for example you use this option to copy tracks there.
If your external drive doesn't show up anymore then it is not mounted automatically. Please check the KDE System Settings -> Removable Devices for that if you run it in MSC aka USB mode. If it is in MTP mode, this is indeed broken at the moment, sorry for that. As for the Android phone this is similar, but has to be set on the Android phone itself: if it is not set to be used as a USB mass storage it will not show up in the Media Sources. My HTC Desire works fine here.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Ok, I am kind of lost. What does MSC or MTP mean?
I enabled automounting for my Android phone which works properly (the device is automatically mountend after plugging in) but Amarok doesn't show anything. Btw I have Amarok 2.4.0. |

Thanks. Ok, I can connect my Android phone to computer like every simple flashdrive so I assume it uses MSC/USB mode. I have also set up the automounting (as mentioned before). But it still doesn't appear in Amarok. Do I have to do something special?
Btw. how would Amarok know which folder to use for music on my device? |

I guess I have the same problem as here:
viewtopic.php?f=116&t=94350 I hope this will be fixed soon. Btw. normal usb flash disk works great, I plug it in and it immediately appears in Amarok. |
