Amarok 2 Poor Sound Quality

Mon Oct 17, 2011 5:51 am
Hi,

Amarok 2 has extremely poor sound quality - the music sounds as if underwater or muffled. Sound is fine in VLC, Banshee, YouTube, etc....

I have tried both the Xine backend and the GStreamer backend and neither has made a difference.

The ubuntu forums couldn't help, if you cannot, where do I post to get a solution please?

Thanks,

try the phonon-vlc backend

Your problem is probably Phonon, not Amarok related as VLC and YouTube do not use Phonon (don't know about Banshee but as it's Gnome it probably doesn't)

Check the Phonon hardware and device settings in Amarok settings

Test Amarok as a new user to detemine if the problem is your config or the system
