Hi,

amarok seems to block the sound device through arts when not playing. the arts timeout is also ignored. so it is impossible to play for an application that wants direct access to the sound device. its not a big problem, but it is a little bit annoying to quit amarok all the time ;)

it would we nice if you could fix that ;)

I'm using 1.1-beta 2.

thank you

I'm afraid this behavior will not be changed. What you should do instead is use GStreamer or xine with the dmix plugin for alsa. This allows you to run multiple audio applications in parallel.
