aacPlus HTTP streams with amaroK

Tue Oct 05, 2004 12:21 pm
Does amaroK already support decoding the new aacPlus streams from internet radio stations like SomaFM or Boomer Radio? Theoretically it could with the help of the gst-plugin based on FAAD2, but probably it would have to be adapted to recognize the Shoutcast MIME type of these streams and the fact that they are in ADTS AAC format, not MP4.

I tried with the latest xine and gstreamer, but it didn\'t work. I readed some files from the gstreamer cvs and it seems that they\'re fixing the problem with the upcoming version 0.8.8.1 i think. What i don\'t know is if there\'s another problem with the amarok program itself, something about the mime types or http header, take a look at this thread :[ul]http://amarok.kde.org/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,57/func,view/id,2574/catid,9/limit,6/limitstart,12/[/ul]
