100% cpu in script

Sat Mar 19, 2005 9:39 pm
Hi,

I\'m trying to make a small script, to write the current track details to a file.

I\'m just starting on this, so be gentle. However, I\'m not really sure how my script should \"wait\" for input on stdin.

for example, if I do the following in a perl script:

while (){

do stuff;

}

Each time there is a track change, amarok goes up to 100% cpu usage, and never plays the next track.

I\'m running amarok 1.2.1, and for some reason I cant install PyQt on my machine (gcc takes a *lot* time compiling it).

Thanks,
MrZammler
