Hi!
I'm developing a plugin about social listening, very similar to Last.fm. I want to integrate it in Amarok creating a new browser, just like Magnatune browser: http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ne48xg.png http://blogs.magnatune.com/buckman/2006 ... urcha.html How can I do this? I have been diving in DCOP but I couldn't find the right calls. |

The Magnatune extension is not a plugin; it's simply hardcoded. Currently Amarok does not support browser plugins.

OK, I was misleaded by John's comment in http://blogs.magnatune.com/buckman/2006 ... urcha.html
What a pity, it would be really nice for scripts if they could interact more with the interface, beyond the contextual menu entry. Thanks! |

With some trickery, you can make the script interact with the context browser. See here for an example:

But before you dive too deep into this: I'm pretty sure that we will provide a simple infrastructure for new browser plugins together with a hook into the context browser for 1.4.3.

Wow, that would be really cool!
I had a look at conTEXT but it was very tricky. Besides, my script is in Ruby... |

Ah, Ruby, the language of the Gods. Very nice! Anything else would have disappointed me.

That screen shot of Amarok looks very differnet from what i have in version 1.4.2. The tabs and lay out are completely different. Is this just the Magnatune interface in Amarok or is this a new look for Amarok in an upcoming version?

That was how Amarok looked for some weeks in June.
