Populating playlist, what is it?

Thu Nov 16, 2006 5:21 am
Hi,

I'm a translator and am translating Amarok. I'm just wondering what is 'Populating playlist'? It seems not make sense to me, so that I may not translate this message entry correctly.

I'd like to know what does exactly Amarok do with playlist while it show this message.

Because 'populate' in English word means

To furnish with inhabitants, either by natural increase or by immigration or colonization; to cause to be inhabited; to people.

so I have no clue...

thanks,

DrRider

PS. I tried to search in this forum but find nothing. And.. sorry if I post in the wrong section.

'populate the playlist' means 'add tracks to the playlist'.

In the tense you ask about... 'populating playlist' is an activity which is currently happening, so the playlist is being filled with tracks. It can also be a heading which gives a list of instructions on HOW to fill the playlist with tracks.

If men could get pregnant, we'd learn the true meaning of "screaming nancyboy wuss"
