I've been messing around with d-bus and amarok 2 lately. While I've found I can control Amarok pretty well with most of the d-bus commands I haven't been able to find anything to control "skip" in last.fm with the excetption of using Prev,Next then Play to reload last.fm
example: dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.kde.amarok /Player org.freedesktop.MediaPlayer.Prev;dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.kde.amarok /Player org.freedesktop.MediaPlayer.Next;dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.kde.amarok /Player org.freedesktop.MediaPlayer.Play Pretty long and crazy command just to skip a song in last.fm... Is there a better way that I'm missing here? If not is it planned for the future?

Well, the dbus interface implements the MPRIS standard. No less, no more.
We don't plan to add much more to it. For complex tasks people are supposed to use Amarok 2's QtScript interface, which is a lot more extensive.

That's a bummer. I would expect more then that, being scripting seems to be internal Amarok functions and not outside functions. I wonder what other players will allow me to have better control. All I want to do is write a decent Plasmoid. Guess I'm looking at the wrong player then. Thanks anyways.
