Hello,
I tried to follow the guides using them in a cross-compiling environment http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/KDElibs_without_aRts and stumbled where kde 4 uses cmake instead of compile in version >= 4 Is that guide old or does kde 3.x work too ? thanks |

That guide is very old... as far as I know, there is no arts in kde4. Perhaps post a bit more about what you're trying to do, and with which version.

I am trying to compile amarok for a networked media tank (popcorn hour). I am not sure if it would be fast enough but the existing music player on that box is not really worth to be mentioned.
Anyway, this means I need to compile everything for that box. So I started on debian with the toolchain of course which is this one: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/downl ... 05.tar.bz2 ( I managed to compile that one and cross-compiled already other tools with it.) Now I cross-compiled qt4, I did choose the embedded version since I think that one matches best (not sure though) It took hours to compile, I didn´t choose to make a minimum version... http://get.qtsoftware.com/qt/source/qt- ... 5.0.tar.gz Then it was up to kdelibs and thats where I am stuck cause I am too stupid to make cmake cross-compile. I tried with a 3.x version but stopped there when it asked for the X dependencies. I don´t wanna waste time for a version of kdelibs that might not work with amarok. so can I go with kdelibs 3.x or do I need to find out how cmake works (it failed on the cross-compile parameters as described on the cmake wiki ) |

Ah right, well that guide was written for Amarok 1.4 (last edited in Jan 2006!), so yes in order to follow it you'd need to go with kdelibs 3.x and its associated deps.
