I guess taglib is developed by the amarok devs, too. So I'm asking this question here Why is taglib extras splitted from taglib? It seems to be a small package.

To allow others to use taglib-extras without requiring amarok.

Exactly. Plus, it allows others to help maintain it, which takes away a great burden from us.

Huh? It's possible to use taglib without amarok, isn't it? So why is taglib-extras not part of taglib? I can't find any official sources of taglib-extras, so I have to use the svn version? |

taglib-extras handles proprietary file formats. And what else than source code is the SVN in your opinion? You should ask your distro to provide packages for it.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

OK, that makes things more clear. I'll have to package it for Zenwalk Linux. This is why I ask for it And this leads to the next question: taglib 1.5 is quite old now. Should I package the svn version, too? |

Thanks guys. But now I've used the svn version. Package and buildscript for Zenwalk/Slackware is available here: http://thenktor.dyndns.org/packages/taglib-extras/ |

Could you please provide taglib-extras source archive for download? Pkgbuild spec-based build systems rely on an upstream source tarball and the URL above is not available and probably outdated. |

Because its outdated and no more available, try this one:
