I just pulled the latest source - revision 961854 - and built it on my Dell Dimension 9200 X86_64 Ubuntu 8.10.

Builds fine, starts OK - but I can't play any mp3 files.  I get a splash window at startup....

    The audio device HDA Intel (STAC92xx Analog) does not work.
    Falling back to default

I have had sound issues with this machine.  The snd_hda_intel module has been problematic but it works fine for other mp3 players.  I run exaile without issue.

I can also hit amarok -> Settings -> Configure Amarok -> Playback -> Configure

And I hear the test tones for all the devices.

What am I missing?

I have a Dell Dimension 9100 and am having the same problem. - I test the audio device and it works.  I can also play audio from other sources, but Amarok, no luck.  I am using Ubuntu 9.04 with the Beta Amarok 2.0.90.  Any thoughts?
