Amarok2 + Mysql[Not Emb]

Tue May 12, 2009 11:47 am
Hello! Sorry for my English. I'm from Russia.
I have a few questions about Amarok2.
1. Have Amarok2 Mysql support [Not Embedded]? I need to store all my collection in dedicated Mysql5 server.
2. Have Amarok2 dcop support? Or other console management maybe? I need to control Amarok via sh scripts.

1. Not yet. It should be quite simple for us to add in the future, we have just not gotten around to it just yet.
2. Yes, Amarok 2 supports the MPRIS standard over dbus. Try using "qdbus" fro the terminal to browse the available functions ( it works almost like DCOP )

Thanks for your reply. I will wait for full SQL support.

Hello,

I have found a temporary solution for accessing Amarok 2 database in MySQL server (for example to access with phpmyadmin).
I've posted the commands here : http://forum.kubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p ... 3#p2595883

It's in french but not very complicated to understand.
If you don't, ask me for precision.

Bye
