shoutcast stream, titles, script,

Thu Jun 11, 2009 9:15 am
Hi guys,
sometimes i want to automatically save the titles of the tracks played by a shoutcast stream, in a file or in a playlist
( so later i can use it to retrieve or buy these tracks.)

i've checked that there is no event "trackChanged" when a shoutcast change the track infos.
so the unique way i've already managed to get this results is building a shell script that every a fixed time, check for the track infos current playing in amarok and put them in a file (if they are changed since last check).

is there some smarter way to do that?
i see that amarok can detect these changes showing the on-screen-display, so maybe there is a specific event that can i catch with the dbus-monitor, or also inside an amarok-script.

maybe when it will be a not-too-dumb amarok-script i will share it with the community. :D
