Amarok uses KDE4, but isn't part of it and KDE 4.3 isn't available yet.
You should start Amarok from console with --debug option. Which distribution (openSUSE)? Which amarok version? But I would say: remove $KDEHOME/share/config/amarok* m0nk

Here are the last lines of amarok --debug: <unknown program name>(14582)/: Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed. Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" " ~/.kde/share/config> KCrash: Application 'amarok' crashing... sock_file=/home/maxim/.kde4/socket-eclipse/kdeinit4__0 |

Run amarok in gdb, so you can get a backtrace. What works for me is

Please try a variation of what Dieter had suggested:
PS: On SUSE, it could be .kde4, instead of .kde
