Those are already possible with 1.0.2, the delete one is possible in CVS. |

Sorry forgot to say something encouraging, will check out the other stuff thanks for the suggestions!

Hehe, thanks for the introduction to the dcop interface which has the play/pause toggle. Now I have my multimedia keys setup nicely.
As for the things you mentioned are in 1.0.2, neat, I'll be watching for the debian packages. With reference to the dcop interface. I noticed however that with isPlaying there are only two states: playing not playing - which includes paused and stopped There needs a way to make a distinction between paused and stopped(for use with scripts.) Perhaps a isPaused to go with isPlaying? |
|
Found a work around to find out how to know if it's paused or stopped,
nowPlaying is an empty string when it's stopped but not when paused. |
|
Suggestion: When the focus is with the search bar in the playlist manager the ESC key clears it.

Good suggestion! And the isPlaying shoudl be replaced by a function that returns an int to indicate state. Should have been done a long time ago. A few other apps require it.

sorry, memory hog was a bit harsh, but it needs ~10MB more than noatun+hayes with the same data; 34m RES 26m SHR here
Let my try to explain the problem: Having the list sorted artist/album is nice for most albums, but not for albums like soundtracks, where you have various artists. You'll end with a list where one album is splitted in multiple artist/album entities. Would it be possible to have user editable constraints, to collect all "sort result albums" with less than X songs under various/foo? |

Re: Albumb Covers window
Need some sort of progress indication for when you click to fetch the covers. Having to look and a seperate download program to see if it's fetching any is just plain silly. Also need to know that it is actually searching for them and how far it is through it. |

Song title showing in the title bar so we can see what the song is even when it's shaded. (Or looking in the taskbar)

I think that it would be great, if user could sort collection by more then just [primary]/[secondary]. For example I would like to have [genre]/[artist]/[year - album]. It would be a very nice and useful solution for people who have tons of music |

Things that I missed / found quirky / could be done better:
1) amarok advertizes drag(o|')n drop. But for removing a file from a playlist, I have to use the keyboard or use the right mouse key. I'd suggest adding some sort of trash-bin in amarok. Or, I don't know, is it possible to put one into kicker? 2) the big random. Play every track found before in random order. Standard mode in XMMS for me at the moment, should be combined with the playlists of amarok. 3) when I click the "close window" button in the KDE window decoration a window pops up informing me that amarak won't really quit. How about adding a button to this window like "real quit". Since this dialog can be disabled anyway this won't hurt anyone, but in the beginning I missed it since I had to quit amarok in the systray afterwards. side note: Why did amarok take several minutes for starting? Didn't happen before. |

Don't know if this has been mentioned... But I would like to see the "Favorite Tracks" be a little smarter. More specifically, when I put it on random, the tracks I skip past are counted as playing just the same as the ones I listen to. So maybe a track shouldn't count as "played" if only a certain amount of it is played.

hi, i dont know if this could make it into 1.1 now or has been mentioned before, buuuuuuuuuuut:
i would love it if i could drag and drop tracks or albums, into different artists or albums, and have it update the id3 tags automatically. (in the music library this is) Thanks for your time  |

Are there any plans to make Amarok support translations? I would recommend Amarok to my sister but she doesn't speak english very well so she's using Noatun, which at least is in spanish. It's a pitty because I think she would enjoy Amarok much more, but it's not translated. I don't mind to help in the spanish translation but I haven't seen any .pot file in the sources. I think translations are a key for Amarok success in non-english contries over other Linux media players.
