What about tabbed playlists? I would find this feature more useful (in terms of usability) than opening/closing/clearing/saving the same (main) playlist...
BTW, amaroK rocks Thanks for this great app! |

Thank you all for a great app!
Note sure if anyone has suggested this but I so much like the new playlist features that lists you most played songs etc... It would be nice if we could add some dynamic playlists that handle the following: |

Note sure if anyone has suggested this but I so much like the new playlist features that lists you most played songs etc... It would be nice if we could add some dynamic playlists that handle the following: - Top 20 (most played) - Top 20 (most played per genre) - Top 20 (least played) - All never played - All newly added to Catalog Im sure there a lot more options that others can comeup with... Thanx again! |

An option to ignore certain words in playlist sorting would be nice. For example, I don't care about the words "The" or "A" at the beginning of an albums' name; I would much rather it be sorted by the second word in these cases, as that word is more meaningful to me. (E.g., I would rather that "The Beatles" be listed alongside "Bob Dylan", rather than "Ted Leo and the Pharmacists".) I would still want the words displayed, of course (otherwise I would just rewrite the artist tag as "Beatles", in this case.)
This could be internationalized, as well -- German-speakers presumably don't care about a "Das" starting a title, nor do French-speakers likely care about "Le" or "L'". Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your great work on Amarok! |

Hi,
- Play collection I often want to random play my complete collection, but to achieve this I have to select all entries in the collection and add them to the playlist. If amaroK finds new MP3s and adds them to the collection they are not added to the playlist automatically, are they? So I have to delete and recreate the playlist. Very annoying. - "Recursive" tagging in collection "Edit Meta Information" is not selectable in e.g. artist's and album's context menu. It would be really great if one could change all tags the way other jukeboxes (e.g. MusicMatch Jukebox) do. - More flexible cover art finding My covers images usually don't include "front" but "cover". - Reduce memory usage My collection contains 4000 files and so does my playlist (see my first topic). Top shows me that usage: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 29761 amair 15 0 115m 74m 36m S 2.3 20.0 8:25.40 amarokapp - Support multiple databases Use hk_classes or unixODBC so one can store its music collection using the databases (s)he wants. - Find as you type I really like this feature! But if I want to here only genre "rock" it also lists me all artists, albums and songs containing "rock". Maybe another textfield for genre selection? Regards, Andreas |

[ 2) the big random. Play every track found before in random order. Standard mode in XMMS for me at the moment, should be combined with the playlists of amarok. ] Do this by turning random off and using shuffle. Doing this you listen to the tracks in playlist order, but the playlist is randomized. If you work this way then you can go forward or back in the "random order". You can also line up 2-3 tracks just below the current playing, listen to them, then it will be back to the random list. Try it. I've given up on using the traditional random setting. |

This one's a little "out there" but how about a "suggest music" button that submits your top 50 artists/albums/tracks to a server, compares them to everyone else's who's subbmitted theirs, and suggests other music you might like. I don't know about 1.1 but it'd be a neet little feature for somewhere down the road.

it would be nice if you could localize the coversearch, like being able to search amazon.de instead of amazon.com(?).

1. the toolbar and the sidebar shoukl be movable to ther locations
2. playlists should be usable as in juk (and winamp5), i,.e you can see the different playlists in some bar, and can select one to load it, instead of having to load a playlist from the filebrowser. 3. equalizer is must, as in xmms type... 4. you can provide option to set shortcuts for seeking forward/backwards, right now i have to use dcop calls and make scripts for that. would mighty like to see these feature implemented; amaROCKS!!!! thnx for such a great piece of software!! aneesh |

Implemented in 1.1. On another note: Could we finally end this thread? It's becoming as long as a python snake, and difficult to navigate. And 1.1 is in feature freeze anyway. Hello amaroKers, how about starting new threads?

don't know if it has been posted before, and got no time to read the whole topic, but there could be some support for lyrics... there is a plugin for winamp called LyriX that retrieves the lyrics everytime the song currently played changes.... this could be displays in one of the tabs.... and could be a great feature !!
thanx anyway to consider this |
|
also: a possibiliy to re-tag mp3 albums via a CDDB request... would be wonderful !!!!
bye |
|
possibility to add streams or tracks or albums in a Favorites section !!
