Hi there,

in the latest print edition of the German LinuxUser, i.e. LinuxUser 11/2004, there's an article dealing with the usability of music players. The review includes XMMS, BeepMediaPlayer, JuK and AmaroK. As the author of the article I would be happy to discuss its findings and help improve the UI of amarok. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to cite the article word by word, so take some time to read it by yourself at your favourite newspaper store or just get a copy :). I hope it will be online in a few weeks, but that depends not on me but the folks at LinuxUser...

Regards,
Florian

No fair, I would want to read it. Stick to the German forum perhaps? Or maybe some bullet points?

To say the truth I wasn't all that happy with the review. It's pretty much saying "Loads of gimmicky features, bad usability." The article did not go much into depth, e.g. stating what exactly is a bad about amaroK's interface. Perhaps the author could elaborate on his criticism in this forum.

Basically it appeared that the reviewer was more of a JuK fan and preferred the way this application is working.

I did so and started a new thread.
