switching between playlists

Sun Nov 07, 2004 7:07 pm
regarding features amarok is definitely the best music prog out there
but theres one thing that really annoys me:
switching between playlists takes way to long...

switching between small playlists with about 100 songs is annoying,
switching between normal playlists with 1k or 2k songs is just unbearably

loading a playlist (with songs that are already @ the db) shouldn't take more than 1 or 2 secs...

Check out CVS HEAD. Tags are now read from the Collection if available -> much faster.

There are different versions in CVS (the whole point of CVS), but you'd have to know what your doing to get them.

1.2-beta1.

It works for all tracks which are in your Collection. The first time you drag items to the playlist, tags are read from the harddisk (slow). Next time you drag the same items, the tags are read from the Collection database, which is much faster. It is much like a cache.
