I just installed the latest CVS version of amarok. I must say, well done. the Lyrics feature is extremly cool....
Unfortunately there are some point how make amarok a little bit difficulter to use than it is in real: Context Browser: 1. I have a 19\'\' monitor, so that\'s not actually a problem for me, but with a smaller resolution, there are too many fields open. Why don\'t you add the possibility to \"close\" the fields, so that only the title rest (e.x: [ Suggested Songs [>] ] ) 2. It extremly nice that\'s it now possible to browse all albums in the context browser. But for example, I have 7 albums from Sens Unik, and when all are open, my mousewheel will crashing because I had to use it so much. Cover Manager: 3. Sometimes it fetches the wrong covers. I suppose that is because Amazone hasen\'t listed this album and it download the one that is nearly similar. Why not let Amarok the user ask if thats the right cover if there isn\'t a 100% safety. 4. I suppose that\'s the same with musicbrainz. So, enough for this evening |

Most of your issues are addressed already, I think there must be something wrong with your install. That and at the moment the contextbrowser is under heavy development, maybe there are some temp. issues.

Why are they all open?
It doesn\'t fetch them by default. What I do is in the cover mananger, select to only see albums without covers and then select fetch from Amazon.com. It starts fetching the covers and I know all the albums with covers were recently fetched. I scroll through them and unset the wrong albums. There are apparently plans to show more the one album returned. There should be a \'never fetch from Amazon\' option for albums which Amazon is confused about.
Actually, for some reason, musicbrainz has never worked for me.

Brumgabrasch isn\'t the only one with this issue, I like having lots of free space on my desktop (to stick other programm windows in ofcoarse) and thought about submitting this as a request, apparently someone else thought of it, too bad it doesn\'t work perfectly yet. Great idea! Amazon can\'t even assing wrong album covers to half my collection. After just upgrading from 1.1 to the latest testing available in packaged form I\'m pretty mad I have to go dig around google images again (I should have saved a backup copy, it\'s my own fault I know ). Problem being that the beta crashes after every album I add manually, I think I\'ll just be lazy and wait till that little bug has disappeared or learn to programm, whichever comes first. Something else i would like to see is an option to disable the deafualt behavior on song change. At the monet every time a new song starts the current Track appears, even if you\'re browsing your collection adding new tracks and albums. Some people might like this, hence the idea to make it optional, but I really don\'t. |

what\'s wrong with it?
could you please try to get a backtrace with gdb? otherwise it\'s hard to debug it. there\'s something about it in the handbook.
you can disable this behaviour in the config dialog! have fun, muesli |

Well, nothing really, they display perfectly. Clicking on them just doesn\'t do anything, or are we simply talking about different things here? I was thinking of the different sections of the context browser (your favorite tracks, suggested songs, etc) Uhh, sure I, I\'ll try. Willing to try anything if it helps, but I might need some help sometimes. I have the complete output from gdb saved, but won\'t post that here. the last bit just before the crash follows: [code:1]amarok: Querying amazon with artist: Broke and album Broke amarok: [void CoverFetcher::getCover(const QString&, const QString&, const QString&, CoverFetcher::QueryMode, bool, int, bool)] amarok: Broke, Broke: Broke - Broke amarok: Using this url: http://xml.amazon.co.uk/onca/xml3?t=web ... ge=1&f=xml amarok: [void CoverFetcher::imageResult(KIO::Job*)] ASSERT: "i <= nodes" in /usr/share/qt3/include/qvaluelist.h (372) amarok: Querying amazon with artist: (Hed) Pe and album (Hed) Pe amarok: [void CoverFetcher::getCover(const QString&, const QString&, const QString&, CoverFetcher::QueryMode, bool, int, bool)] amarok: (Hed) Pe, (Hed) Pe: (Hed) Pe - (Hed) Pe amarok: Using this url: http://xml.amazon.co.uk/onca/xml3?t=web ... earch=(Hed) Pe&mode=music&type=heavy&page=1&f=xml amarok: [void CoverFetcher::imageResult(KIO::Job*)] amarok: [void CollectionDB::saveCover(const QString&, const QString&, const QImage&«»)] Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread -1236900608 (LWP 21169)] 0xb6976a09 in free () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (gdb) [/code:1] One other thing I did notices since 1.2-beta1 is that the Amazon cover search doesn\'t use artistnames anymore, just the album name, I think that shows in the output above aswell. Woops! I\'d better start examining configuration dialogs better in future before I open my big trap. Knowing that the option is there made it so much easier to change, there\'s even a helpfull message on mouseover... sorry about that. |

ups, thats with the titles function already... Perhaps a little icon how shows the status (open or closed) of title will automatically indicate that there is that function....

Will there be somthing like a themes section for easy theming the context browser?
And a webpage where you can download styles from other users? |

Ya, I really hope this is implemented. It would be cool

You\'re lucky: This is already implemented in 1.2-beta2 The Context-Browser is fully themable with CSS. Currently it\'s still a bit cumbersome to set up, but this will be improved until 1.2-final.
Yes, we will probably offer that.
