Collection Browser Grouping

Sat Mar 12, 2005 7:48 pm
The Collection Browser has a tree view on my songs, ie. grouped by album, artist or whatever you like.
I would appreciate a list view, with columns for the different attributes like artist, title and genre. This would be pretty much the same view the playlist already has.
I became used to such a view by madman, juk and also by the Winamp Media Library in the old days.

So, would it be much of a hassle to let the user choose between those 2 views?

Thanks for an answer,
Thomas

Ooom, it\'s already there. Click on the "Flat-View" icon in the Collection-Browser.

But why does the flat-view show the message \"To enable flat-view mode, please enter search terms ...\", if no search terms are given? In my opinion, this is distracting, as I would very much like to be able to browse my whole collection also in the flat-view. I think it would be better if all files were shown when no \"filter\" terms are given, since there should then be no filtering.

Displaying the whole collection in the flat-view is a bit \"heavy\" on the machine. We had that for a short period of time, got removed as we have users over 20 000 songs and it REALLY makes things a bit slow in this case(my 6000 were slow also, but then again i have p3 800mhz with 256mb sdram(oldscool, i know :P)).
