I\'d like to throw out a few simple ideas for the next amarok.
1) An integrated visualization menu in the toolbar. The curent menu should stay available, but a toolbar menu would be great. Integrated visualization window would be nice too (the window should replce the playlist window with a toggle button, and should be detachable from the amarok window) but I don\'t really mind the current way. 2) I would like to be able to right click on empty space or have a button in the playlists side tab for creating a new playlist. Then dragging and dropping the songs I want into them. I don\'t like loading the songs I want in a saved playlist in the playlist window then saving the current playlist. It\'s very annoying. Also that way I could load my entire collection into the playlist window and drag and drop from there. 3) Better buffering would be nice for the upcoming next track. I listen to a lot of DJ albums where it is non-stop music. Every time is switches to the next song there is a slight pause in the playback. I have it configured to have a 0 gap in-between. 4) Now for the big ones. Amarok should be able to import iTunes playlists and libraries. I have an iTunes xml file on my computer with a bunch of saved playlists on it. Since iTunes doesn\'t use standard playlist files (.m3u) but instead saves them in the library file, I can\'t get my saved playlists. Also, Amarok should sync with the iPod just like iTunes. Whatever is in the current collection and saved playlists, is synced with the ipod. And amarok should be able to take advantage of zeroconf in KDE to share files with iTunes. |

1-3 we\'ve heard before (some already have open bugs even).
Integrated iTunes support would require a developer who uses iTunes. We don\'t have any. Actually, why would this even be part of amaroK... couldn\'t someone write a iTunes->.m3u program? .m3u\'s are the standard. muesli is planning to improve iPod support (not sure exactly what) so look forward to that in 1.3. Thanks, Ian

Yeah, I never thought of that. I don\'t know why. Maybe I\'ll give it a shot. |
