party mode

Sat Apr 09, 2005 11:41 pm
First, thanks seb for implementing this !

I would like to talk about the integration of the party mode into the amarok\'s GUI. I think the current setup is quite weird, i think it\'s not natural to have the party configuration button next to the search filter field.

I remember a cvs feature called dynamic playlist that disappeared for a reason, that was based on the same principle, appending and removing songs from the playlist. To enable it, there was a toggle button in the status bar among with random, repeat, and append suggestions.

I think this is a more natural place to find the party button. But now comes the question of how to configure this mode. Could this be done by right clicking on it ?

Tell me what you think

IMO your method - leftclick enable/disable, rightclick configure - would be better.

Off topic, but I have some suggestions for the Party Mode:

- Right now, it says:
Number of upcoming songs to show: 30
Number of previous songs to show: 5

But it shows total 30 track, not 35.

- When enable party mode, and playlist track < [party mode] number of songs to show, immediately add random tracks. (Else, just contiue play and delete, until the playlist tracks = [party mode] number of songs to show, then add random tracks).

- When deleting x tracks inte playlist, immediately add x tracks.

Hm I think that\'s all. Thanks for the party mode!
