It seems to me that if you start typing while your focus is in the collection browser it should do one of two things:
1. Focus on the first Artist (album, track, whatever) that begins with the characters you typed. Like typing in konqueror. 2. Forward your cursor automatically to the filter, and filter by the phrase you type. Like typing in the playlist. Is this possible? |

do you mean sorta like jump to file in xmms?
In the filter for searching data base, flat view option just show songs and artist no sorting there is a little button in the side tab collection that looks like folders lined down the page i attached an image it hard to describe. Post edited by: carl0ski, at: 2005/07/06 04:11 |

No, not really.
I mean that... ok. Click on one of the artists in the \"tree view\" of the \"collection browser.\" Type a few letters. Nothing happens right? Ok, now click on one of the tracks in the playlist. Type a few letters. See how it puts your cursor in the filter, automatically? That\'s what I\'m talking about. For consistency\'s sake, I think the collection browser should have the same behavior as the playlist. It would also be useful. As I like to browse by Artist - Album, and I probably have a couple hundred artists. It would be a nice shortcut. |

What you mean is e.g this?:
You are in the collection, on the top. And if you press \"M\", it should jump to the first artist starting with M, but it dont? IF this is what you mean, it is a bug. On my gentoo machine at home (I am at vecation now), this dont work. I need to scroll myself down manualy if I want to artists starting with E.G m. On the ubuntu install I have on my laptop it works. I dont know why. The gentoo installation is SVN, and it has not worked for maybe a month? The ubuntu install is about 1-2 week old SVN. I |
