i find Amarok\'s database-based statistics, ratings, etc largely useless because it is calculated based on album and song - IE: pink floyd \'s \"Shine on your Crazy Diamond\" from the album \"Delicate Sound of Thunder\" and the same song from \"Pulse\" are considered two different songs. this makes sense, but it\'s not handy for statistics.
last.fm, however, does it by artist and title, meaning that any song called \"Shine on you Crazy Diamond\" by Pink Floyd will count towards the stat. that aside, i don\'t use KDE (no flames, please - it\'s nothing against KDE; i dislike ALL Desktop Environments. i prefer a minimalist WM.). with that in mind, i don\'t have kfmclient, and the easiest way i see to get it is to get KDE-base and konqueror - not fun. so, could you provide an option for people like me, to use some sort of fork()ing exec() (so amarok doesn\'t go away ) instead? i seem to remember previous versions launching a browser just fine without kfmclient - am i remembering things that weren\'t thanks a lot amarok rocks! |
