Hello,
It\'s a nice player - sometimes crashes, but that\'s another topic. What I would like to tell about, is an idea of a a feature that just crossed my mind... Ok, here it goes: let\'s say I am listening to a radio show, which is an mp3 (a podcast, to be exact). It\'s quite long - about 30 minutes or so... Anyway... I am listening to it and somewhere in the middle of that, I suddenly feel like I need to have a cigarette (bad habit, I know). I need to go to another room and since I can\'t really hear all the talk from the radio show there - I still would like to put on some music, while I smoke. I had just put the radio show on \"pause\", because I really want to continue listening to it, when I get back... I add some other mp3\'s to the playlist with some music - and everything is nice - I hear music and I can go to the other room. But what happens when I get back? I select the podcast again, but... Oh No! I will have to spend about a minute scrolling the radioshow and looking up the spot where I paused it... Damn!... should have remembered the exact time of the pause! Silly me... And then I get the idea of a feature - how about a \"pause\" option, that would pause one media file and remember the pause position, until it get\'s unpaused... and at the same time, other mp3\'s would still be playable... To think wild - even the shuffling could honor the pause option and make sure that this mp3 would not get played until manually unpaused! Wouldn\'t that be great? So, I said it... Just a dream... Thank you for the attention, Keep up the good work. |

I\'m not sure about your idea of implementation, though its interesting. But I agree, I listen to a 1.5 hour radio show every weekday, so I can see that there needs to be some way to stop and come back to the same position in a track automatically.
I\'m thinking more of this being implemented like a bookmarking feature, that has other uses as well.

I agree, this sounds like a typical bookmark thing and this should be easy to implement I guess.

iTunes does this and it\'s a really good feature, basically it just remembers where you stopped listening to a podcast (note, they only use this feature for podcasts which makes sense I think). The next time you play it automatically starts from where you left off.

I really would like to see this feature in the next amarok-release.
Will this bookmark option be implemented in Amarok 1.4? |

Ok, I'll agree with this. This is how podcasts should work, regardless of an additional bookmarking feature.

Depends on the server. Some servers will time out, others won't.
