I have my collection browser set to show the songs grouped by Author/year - album, but if I try to copy a Album, or a Author into a directory (in konqueror, for example) all I get are the songs widthout directory hierarchy... so, if I have, for author A, 2 version of the same song, in different albums (a live-one and a \"greatest hits\"-one, to make an example) I lost all informations!

It\'s possible to \"automagically\" create a Author/Year - Album (or whatever is, based on how is set the grops) directory tree when I try to copy from the collection?

PS: sorry, I\'m not english...

1.4 will introduce a feature called organize files which will allow you to move songs in your collection from one place to another and maintain the artist - album directory heirarchy. If you use konq though, how can konq know the artist and album? You have to create those directories yourself first.

Good. So I finally can sort my collection (at the moment is a huge blob...) ^^;

mmm
well, oblyousway konq doesn\'t know nothing, but amaroK do! :P I though can be possible to "overwrite" the drag\'n\'drop copy from amaroK to konqueror (something like the d\'n\'d from konqeror to konsole, you can "copy" a text, or download the link, or something else)

I\'m not a programmer, so I don\'t know if it\'s possible, but if I can se a hierarchy tree, and I try to move the "root" of the tree somewere, I might expect to mantain the tree information... I don\'t know if I must fill a wish (a bug?) at bugs.kde.org, or not...

Yea that would be possible and it would make a lot of sense .Though like oggb4mp3 said the functionality is redundant with the organize collection feature, perhaps it could use the same methods once the organize collection feature is more complete.

But it would be still useful, when draging files into an usb stick, or friends hdd. Yeah, separate \'tool\' is cool, but quick and easy solution is also useful.

If i understand this rightly in 1.4 you can move albums or songs from one artist to another in teh context browser?

How about if you do this and move \'Album A\' from Unkown artist to \'ArtistXY\' it then gets its tag updated to reflect it\'s an album by ArtistXY?
