I couldn\'t find this in the config, or by searching the forums.
It would be nice if there were an option to always start amarok visible. It seems that for now, to ensure this, I have to disable the tray icon. Otherwise, I am apt to quit amarok when it is minimized to the tray. Since amarok remembers this setting, the next time I start amarok, I have to go to the tray to use it instead of having the more usable gui displayed automatically. I want this feature because I like to set up a new playlist each time I run amarok. It is only a few clicks, I know, but those clicks are really not necessary. |

I poked around in the window specific settings with no luck. Which setting do you use? Or, do you use a setting in there at all?
The closest thing I could find was not in window specific settings at all. \'kstart --tosystray\' for starting amarok seemed to be the only relevant option. Unfortunately, it does exactly the opposite of what I want to do. It seems to me that not a lot of code would have to be added to amarok to make this problem really easy to solve. From the usability standpoint, I think it would be more intuitive to have a listbox in \'Configure General Options,\' under \'Show tray icon,\' that is enabled and disabled along with \'Flash tray icon while playing.\' In the listbox, there could be three options: (1) start in tray, (2) start visible, and (3) remember last setting. If it actually is possible to set this up in window specific options, this could just be a redundant way to set that option. It could create or modify a rule for window specific settings. |

Sorry for posting again ... I\'m really not trying to be a pain.
I think that window specific settings actually can not work to solve this problem. Window specific settings takes effect when a window is shown, right? What I want to do is to show a window that doesn\'t already exist. Using window specific settings, I can set settings that take effect as soon as I click the tray icon and show the main amarok window, but I can\'t set anything that takes effect before that. Am I wrong, or am I wrong? |
