Media Transfer Protocol

Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:38 am
I just bought my wife a Zen Microphoto, I had done a little research on the Zen before I bought it and it seemed like it would work, but the fear that engulfed me when I bought it and found that it used MTP. Microsoft had said that this protocol was not to be used with opensource.. Ouch. To my surprise however I found a project that allows you to use MTP players http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/ this was great I was able to get my wifes player to work with an app called gnomad2. However I was bummed out when I found her favorite player amarok did not support mtp. My point? Is it possible? I know it's been requested before but searching through the forums there was no answer. Can someone please give an answer as to whether or not this will be possible with amarok.. When compiling amarok is there something I can pass that will allow mtp to work?
