UI inconsistency

Sun Jun 18, 2006 12:19 pm
I noticed the following UI inconsistency today,

1) In the playlist (right hand side), if you left click you can select "Move to trash"
2) In the collection browser you can right click Artist, Album or song and select "Move X files to trash"
3) In the playlist browser you can select "Delete" on playlists and "Remove" for songs.
4) In the files browser you select "Delete"

This is confusing for two reasons,

1) You can both move files to trash and actually delete them. In my opinion only one of these actions should be available in the UI (it could be an option to select either behaviour)
2) The fact that you can't "undelete" stuff if you delete them in the playlist browser, but you may if you have done it somewhere else

Take a look at beta1, it might resolve some of these issues.

Forgot to say, my observations are about v1.4.0

I don't care that much that I'd change to a SVN version because of this, this is just a hint/suggestions to the developers of what can be changed to get a better UI.

Maybe this should be mailed to the maillinglist instead.
