This is really annoying. When I double click an artist in my collection I want it to play that whole artist, so it should delete the current playlist and queue the new artist and start playing immediately. Of course there should always be the option to right click and queue or to drag things to the playlist, but to me double click screems "PLAY ME!"

I disagree. If you want to play something, double click in the playlist (that's why it is called playlist)
But in the collection, the doubleclick is a fast and convenient way to add tracks, whole albums etc to the playlist and append them while not interrupting the currently played track. |

i agree
If i want to add it to the playlist i can drag'and'drop it oder use Load from the context menu. A possibility to play a file directly doesn't exist. This behaviour was introduced some time ago, you can search in bugzilla for it. Cu hurra |

Yeah, I agree too, but the current playlist shouldn't be deleted.
When some friends who don't know amarok try to use it on my computer, they ALWAYS did the same : they look for smth on the collection, find a track, then double clic... And wtf, nothing happens, what is wrong ? I think this is not logical at all, double clic on the collection should enqueue track(s) and play it immediately ! We could for example use the middle click to just add tracks, no double click, just middle click, that would be even easier ! |

To me, it would be ideal if double clicking and drag and droping would inmediately play *only* if the playlist is empty. Otherwise it should only be queued.
[edit]: if there's no music being played, double click and drag and drop should queue new files and play them. if (double_click or drag_n_drop){ if (playlist.status==empty or playlist.status==stop or playlist.status==pause){ newsongs.enqueue newsongs.play } else newsongs.enqueue } Just my opinion though.
