reorder playlist view

Thu Aug 17, 2006 12:03 am
Hi,
I would suggest a reordering of the Playlist Treeview like in iTunes or banshee.
Something like that.
-All Collection
-My Playlist
    -Chillout
    -Wake up
    -Birthday-Party
    -ect...
-Smart Playlist
  -Last Played
  -Never Played
  -Most Played
  -Newest Tracks
  -Favorite Tracks
  -Random Mix
  -Suggested Songs
-Radio-Streams
-Podcasts

I would order the Dynamic Playlists into the Smart Playlist category, because they are really smart ;).
Not so smart are the subbranches on Favorite Tracks, Most Played and Newest Tracks, they really never helped me.

And I think the Collection view is superfluous I can do the same things better using the All Collection Playlist.

Also I vote for something like tabbed playlists. I think it would be a killer feature to have multiple playlist open.
I usually switch between playlists during the day and when i return to a playlist i would like to have it remembered where I stopped it.

Oh, and I think the save playlist button should be renamed to export.

bye sven

I think that you should find a music player that suits your taste, instead of trying to make a highly successful music player conform to you.

Sorry if I've been misunderstud but this is'nt about taste it's about usability. This is just a remark that may be considered to enhance usability. Simpler smaller and not so nested categories in the playlist view may make it just a little bit easier to find what you need.
