Apollo like playlist

Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:43 pm
Hi. Though using amarok not for a long time, i'm sure it's best i've seen under linux.
Because i've also used apollo i'd like to propose to add it's feature to extend amarok functionality.

It's about tree-like playlist. I think it would be great to have a possibility to choose between current playlist (flat) and playlist with hierarchial structure such as file managers have (e.g. konqueror).

When you use complicated, not uniform and flat playlist it's visually easier to navigate throw different artists and their albums. Collections are pretty good for sorting and managing your files, but not for navigating while playing.

Although my opinion is quite subjective, i think that not everyone are listening their whole playlist without changing it, jumping to another artist or genre from time to time. When one's mood is changing - music should follow it too.

Qt 4 gives us the possiblity to present the same data in different ways. So some crazy stuff might happen, who knows. ;)
