Hi,
I'm syncing my podcasts to an older generic (generic USB) MP3 player, and having problems transferring with Amarok 1.4.2. The behaviour for podcast transfers to media devices seems to have changed since 1.4.0, I used to have a folder 'podcasts' on my device, and all my podcast files ended up in there in a flat file structure. But since my 1.4.2 upgrade I now seem to be forced to have a additional folder in the transfer path based on the podcast name. This instantly broke downloads for me since my MP3 player cannot 'see' files in these subfolders. (you can create any file/folder structure you want, but the player will only find and play files in the root and first level folders). This may be quite common amongst older USB generic players, my previous player also had this limitation. Anyway, the workaround is to remove the '/podcast' folder from my podcast transfer path, but I now have podcasts and music all munged together. And I'm forever having to skip over music tracks to find my next podcast buried in between the albums. Previously I had all the podcast stuff in one folder, so I could just let my player run and not have to keep fiddling round in my bag pressing buttons. Would it be possible to have a 'flat folder for podcasts' option in the transfer dialog? or better still, could we have variable substitution in the 'podcast path' option like we have for music transfers from the collection? |
