Audiobooks

Wed Oct 11, 2006 11:55 pm
What about a feature to seperate Audiobooks from Music? I would love to have all my Audiobooks available in Amarok, but not in my collection, together with my Music...It could be a configurable second collection, where it is possible to have only Audiobooks... or whatever you like, but only tracks that match specific choices...

Hm.. It would be a beginning to be able t exclude certain Tracks/Albums/Artists/Genres from statistics, shufle etc... So that Audiobooks are actually in the Collection under the Genre "Audiobooks" but do not show up at the Numkber of Music-Tracks of the COllection etc...

I'm with you on the audiobooks deal.  I have some audiobooks from Audible that I can't play in Linux due to it's DRM.  But I would like to get them to work in Amarok.  The only thing that I could think of would be to burn them to a DVD in Windoze and then convert them to format that Linux can use.  How do you work with your audiobooks in Linux?

Most of my Audiobooks are simple MP3s... I really don't like DRM etc, so I work a way around... If I get DRM-Protected Files, I first burn them to Audio-CD and then rip the Audio to MP3.
Some of my Audiobooks are m4b-Files, but these I manually created from the MP3s, I did this to test the Audiobooks-Feature of iTunes...
