Hi!
I was just searching for a script or feature which removes every played song from the playlist so that only the still remaing songs are there and the actually played song is the first one in the list. I know that there is a plugin for Winamp that exactly does that (with the possibility of reload the playlist after having been finished for example). Is there anything comparative for amarok as well? If now, that would be a nice thing, right?! That's the winamp-plugin I am talking about: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=146863 Thanks for listening Micha amarok 1.4.4 kubuntu 6.10 kde 3.5.5 |

You could investigate dynamic playlists... this style of playlist removes the played tracks and adds to the end of the list according to defined rules.
See amarok handbook for more info

Thanks for the hint. I did that already and although the playlist sometimes adds too much of the same artis (for my taste), it's a pretty nice feature I think. But it's not the thing I am searching for. I just want the songs I chose to be removed from the playlist. Not more!

Can't you create an empty smart playlist and use it with the dynamic playlist?
Maybe want to try that

I created a smart playlist with only the artist of my choice, but the list gets filled up all the time after a song has been played or at least the old songs stay where they are.
Or I just didn't really get what you meant Micha |

Sorry I didn't have Linux when I wrote that, so I hadn't tried myself.
Now I have. And you don't have to worry about smart playlists etc. Just create a new Dynamic Playlist, don't check any playlists and put '0' in "Played tracks to show". Screenshot Load the dynamic playlist, and you're ready to go. Good Luck. (If Amarok complains about no sources set, just ignore it. It just pops up when I've created the playlist. In the worst case, just create a smart playlist with a condition that doesn't match any track - eg "Comment is: This is an empty smart playlist" and add it to the dynamic playlist. But you probably don't need to do this.)

regarding "too much of the same artist" - I believe there was a commit to svn recently that randomises dynamic collection track selection a bit better. Could be worth keeping an eye open for the next version, due out fairly soon.

Hey guys! Thanks a lot for the hints and tips! Both the creating of the dynamic playlist (Mogger) and the too-many-of-the-same-artist-aspect (dangle_wtf) are getting me much further and make me happy
Thanks a lot! |
