Quicker start and not reading tags

Thu Apr 05, 2007 4:45 pm
Hi.
I'd like Amarok to be started quicker. I want be able to play music/sound after 2-3 seconds after I click Amarok's icon. Unfortunately at this moment it is not possible because:
- I have very big playlist - more than 10K items
- every time Amarok is started it reads all playlist and it takes a long time.
What I need is Amarok which doesn't read any tags, which I consider to make startup longer. I don't use tags (removed them from most of my sound files), my playlist has only filenames. I just need player which is able to play sound from my huge playlist immediately after it is started.

Amarok isn't designed for use with huge playlists.
Amarok2 also won't.

Perhaps dynamic playlists fits your needs.
