Hello,

is there a way to update the mysql db without amarok.

I often update my tags with another tool. And so its hard for amarok to update the database. The mysql db is located on a server without an graphical user interface. So a Cronjob would be the best way to update the db.

It's not possible at this point. The collection scanner is actually an external application (amarokcollectionscanner) that can run without X11, but the scanner itself is not able to write to the DB. This would require creating another tool - theoretically it could be done, but we have no plans to make such a tool by ourselves.

just found this post with the same question:

http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/t ... 850.0.html

anyway -> imho a lot of people would like to have such a tool. Collections are getting bigger and bigger. The collection process is already a seperate process. Why not build an executeable for this?
