There is a severe lack of logic in the design. Why I should need the playlist Tab, then the Collection Tab and then the Files tab so visible as it is now? First, talking about myself, I don't need to browse the music files each time I open Amarok. Second, I don't need to take a look at the collection tab or the Playlist each time. Why? Because I just want to listen the music. Besides, the music data is already displayed in the right side of the window. Actually, all these tabs confuse me a lot (maybe I'm an idiot but IDTS) .
I want simplicity: For example, after I put music in the folder of my choice, I just want to click one button that adds this new music to the list already present. That is all. I find even dangerous to be able to browse and therefore delete accidentally my music, for example, when I just want to remove the music from the playlist, but not permanently from the hard disk. For example, I have a problem recently: all sound files that come with KDE appeared suddenly in the collection list. I can remove them from the playlist, but the files are still kept in the collection. The only way I know is to delete them from the collection, but that means they will be deleted from the hard disk, thus cripple my system. That is why I don't want to use the File browser tab within Amarok. At least it should be hiden a bit. Also important, Amarok has both the Playlist window and the small window separated. This is not good. I wish that they be merged within one single window, itself being able to shrink into a small one or expand into a larger window. Having two windows for Amarok is just plain stupid and redundant. Let's use the wise approach that works better: KISS (the famous keep it simple, stupid). Maxei |

Am I right? - You want to merge the Playlist and the collection?
why don't you exclude the files from the scanner when you don't want to see them there? |

in other words, right-click on the tab bar and turn off the tabs you don't wish to see. They're on by default as an aid to discoverability.
