i always use amarok with the "show all playlist thing" ..the option that shows all my 3000+ songs in one long playlist ..when i just want to play a particular song, i just go to the search field, type the name of the song/artist and amarok will magically reduce the playlist to the song i want. It would be nice it amarok can have some sort of a search history so that i dont have to retype everytime a seach query(kind of like the web browser address bar thing where it remembers typed addresses). There should also be an option to clear the field.

hope this makes sense, i am just typing without thinking too much and i wont do any proof reading to change anything so just read throught any inconsistencies in my thinking/explanation/grammatical errors

Are you sure there's not already a 'clear' button to either the left or right of the filter bar?
There definitely is on the collection browser filter... would seem odd there's not the same thing for the playlist.

I'm not sure that the way the filter is implemented in amarok (ie, a filter rather than a search) allows for a history at the moment. qt4 might be different, so it might worth posting a feature request for amarok2, rather than have the 1.4.x behaviour changed.

yeah, its more of a filter than a search ..there is a clear button but it only clears currently writen text on the search bar(filter bar).

No at the moment, it doesnt have filter history on the main window, hence this post/request.

where can i add this feature request for amarok2? (on my way to look around the webiste but just incase i cant find it)
