Hiding the playlist search bar?

Sat Jun 30, 2007 6:57 pm
Hi,

I have recently set up a linux box running amarok for use as a music player in our bar at my university. This works really well with people being able to search in the collection and add songs to the playlist (so it works sort of like a jukebox).

However, I have noticed that people (who for the most part have never used amarok before) get confused about the two search bars in the main window, and so proceed to search in the playlist search field. When they finally figure out where to search, the search terms are usually left in the playlist search, which means that when they add a song, it does not appear in the playlist... Confusion ensues, and I usually have to come over and sort things out.

So my question is this: Is there a way to hide the playlist search bar from the main window of amarok? (I looked, obviously, but couldn't find one).

If not, I guess that would be a feature request :)
