Hello, I was just coming by the Amarok forums to see if it would be worth using the CVS version instead of the newest released stable version, and I noticed this forum, and I figured I'd post one idea I had earlier today when trying to burn a CD.
"choose at random up to "XXXMB" It sounds strange, however Bob wishes to create a CD of his 2GB music folder. a CD holds up to 700MB, but he doesn't want to have to use three CDs to get his music in, and hell is Bob going to flip through and choose what music he wants. He would press a button, generating a random playlist that gets him the most-for his space (such as, if he has a 6MB song, a 698MB song, a 1MB song, and another 1MB song, this neat little button would give him the 698/1/1, and not the 6/1/1, since the 6MB was the first in the list, it woould give him the most for his CD). Just a nice idea, since I'm short on CDs, but I want some music for when I'm downstairs ^_^. Thanks for taking the time to read this, have a nice day! [edit] Oh, I am so emberassed.. I'm so sorry, but I seem to have posted this in the wrong forum. I was viewing this one, and saw another topic with [Feature Request] in the title, and figured this was the place for it, I am so sorry Amarok forum staff =/[/edit]

I think it would be better if you posted such feature requests at http://bugs.kde.org. By the way, I think I've seen a similar wish before - not sure if it was here in the forums or at bugs.kde.org, but if you're going to use the latter one, I suggest that you first use the search function to avoid duplications.

I'll second that, maybe at the bottom where it says something like 12 tracks (1:13 hours) have the total filesize as well. I burn cd's all the time for my car, and of course I use Amarok to choose which songs to put on...sometimes am constantly going back and forth between k3b and Amarok trying to get it to fit
I'll add this to my idea list too...have a bunch of "freaking great ideas" to put on bugzilla |

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused, why would this be placed as a bug report?

Hello
Well, I think that by putting ideas on bugzilla it makes it easier for developers to get at them and actually put their feedback on them, as well as give status updates and such. Also I guess users can vote on which ideas and bugs they see as most important and such. I enjoy this forum too... Ah and by bugzilla I guess I meant http://bugs.kde.org. Q |

If you've read the sticky posts on this forum, you'd see that the bugzilla referred to in the previous post is also a place for officially recording feature requests as well. When you file a "bug" entry, you give it a category, and in this case, you'd select "wish".

Oh, I'm so sorry.
I usually do read such things, but I noticed [feature request] in titles, so I figured that's all there was, and also there was a forum (which I accidentally didn't place it in there =/) for feature requests. I'm really sorry about that, I'll add it to bugzilla, sorry for my idiocy everyone! |

Hey, you don't have to apologize. It's not like your post has disturbed anyone - I just thought it sounded like a nice feature, and bugzilla would be the best place to post such requests. It should rather be me apologizing for not giving a good explanation the first time.
