am finally getting my feet wet with amarok - and I think it's awesome...
basic question: I really have no use for that visualization (is that what's it called?) at the bottom of the screen. Is there any way I can get rid of that? AND is there any way I can get it to display cover art instead? Not just at the start of the track, but throughout the whole time the track is playing? Willfriedwald PS: what happens on 10/10? |

Yes. Settings -> Configure Toolbars..., when drag "Analyzer" from the right list to the left. > AND is there any way I can get it to display cover art instead? Not just at the start of the track, but throughout the whole time the track is playing? Get the Analyzer to display the cover art, or are you talking about something else (OSD maybe)?

See my message above on how to remove it. The analyzer looks like this and is located in the toolbar. I still don't understand what you mean with the album cover, though. Do you want it to be displayed in the toolbar?

got it! sorry, am a little dense -
yes! displaying cover art in the toolbar would be a nifty idea - or maybe put it where the analyzer no longer is... w |

as I'm kind of new to the whole Amarok scene myself, i'll lend some advice for viewing the album cover for the currently playing track.
while you're listening to your playlist, click on the Context tab on the left hand side. Not only does it show the album cover for what's playing, but it also has lists of albums and compilations for the artist as well as a lyrics tab and Artist Info tab that pulls from Wikipedia. hope that helps out.

"10/10" isn't a date, but it's meant to mean "10 out of 10 points"
