Just tried the cover manager for the first time - it seems to work great!
question: when it "fetches" covers from Amazon, does it merely "fetch" them, or does it actually imbed them into the metadata? Obviously, imbedding them would be preferable. I have found that the way iTunes adds cover art, it does not travel with the file - in other words, when you put the song on your iPod and play it, the cover art does NOT come with it. The art has to be properly imbedded. Anyhow, so far this looks like an improvement on iT. thanks willfriedwald |

fetched covers are cached in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/albumcovers/ with filenames that are md5sums of "artist - albumname". They're referenced to the album in the amarok database. As mentioned often on the forum, the covers can't be automatically embedded due to amazon's terms of usage. There are scripts around that will do it though.
