Hi,
I'm a newbie with computer music. I just purchased a computer thing that lets me transfer my music from my record albums using my record player to my computer. But, when they're on my computer all the tracks are not in the same folder in Amarok. The "Edit Track Information" is empty. I would like to know if I can incorporate Amarok's "Edit Track Information" function into the file manager when right clicking an mp3 file. My question is about batch editing of "Edit Track Information -> Artist:". I'd like to be able to select a group of songs by The Who and update the "Artist" information to read "The Who" from the KDE File Manager, Konqueror. I see that I can do that type of batch editing in Amarok. The left Pane of Amarok is a listing of my "Entire Collection". I can click one of those "blue folders" that looks a bit like the pawn piece in the game, Chess. If I click the "+" sign I can go into that "folder". So I have "+ The Who -> album name -> song titles". I think it's really cool that I can batch edit the Tags from here. Let's say I have four folders for my "Who" tracks: - The Who ---> album art ----->song 1 ----->song 2 ----->song 3 etc... - Who, the ---> album art ----->song 1 ----->song 2 - Who, The ---> album art ----->song 1 ----->song 2 - The Who, ---> album art ----->song 1 ----->song 2 So, to change the "Artist" information I select all four folders and select "Edit information for X number of tracks". Which is really cool. But, lets say I'm using a file manager (Konqueror) to view my mp3 files. If I right click on the file I can see an option to perform an action using Amarok on that file: - Right Click mp3 file -> Action -> Select Amarok -> -- "Append to Playlist" -- "Append to Play" -- "Que Track". My question is: Is there a way to add an action that let's me incorporate Amarok's "Edit Track Information" function from the file manager? So that when I right click the mp3 file I can "Edit Track Information": - Right Click mp3 file -> Select Action -> Select Amarok -- "Append to Playlist" -- "Append to Play" -- "Que Track" -- "Edit Track Information" Thank you for your help and time. Brian

Sorry, but why do you want to do it i the filemanager? Isn't it faster and more simple to do it directly in Amarok?
If you just want to change the tag for one single file, you can right click on it -> Properties, and under the "Meta info" tab edit whatever you want. Can't help you with multiple files though, maybe there's such a service menu available at kde-look-
