GlobalShortcuts for additional keys

I've got a dell inspiron 1525 and I was wondering if there was an implementation of the use of the multimedia keys.

Right now, I'm running ubuntu, and those keys are usable within ubuntu for it's default media player but not for amarok. Why is that?

amarok doesn't realize the button is being pressed however.
