Hi,
I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or this is indeed broken... I have installed 2.1.0 (on Kubuntu 9.04) today, a big improvement over 2.0. Finally, context view (central panel) is usable. New applets also look much smoother. However, I can't understand their behavior. I have two applets enabled: Current Track and Lyrics (btw, the latter is awesome, works lightning fast). Now when I click on Current Track button at the bottom of the pane it does nothing. But when I click on Lyrics button it hides/unhides... guess what? Current Track applet. Why? IMHO, it would be much more intuitive (and useful) if clicking on an applet button would toggle this particular applet's hide/view mode. Another small annoyance is the track play history list that appears on top of the central panel. I hate it and there seems to be no way to get rid of it. Help! --bamyasi |

The widgets are all set in a column, so if you have more than two, clicking on the third hides the previous ones.
Now to add/remove or change the place of the individual widgets, click on the tool icon on the right of the tool bar.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Which is completely counter-intuitive and dare I say absurd behavior. Clicking applet button should affect (toggle in this case) this particular applet, not some other applet(s).
Going through add/remove dialogue every time you want to switch between applets is a bit tedious... I certainly hope that's not the Amarok's developers view of usability. |

I think you this is a misunderstanding: to toggle the applets, just click on the respective button on the bottom, no need to add/Remove it all the time
And clicking on Lyrics just drags it to the top, why would this be a bad behavior? I use 4 applets, clicking on the button drags the one I want to see to the top, isn't that logical?

OK, then I did misunderstand how it works, if clicking on applet's button drags it to top of the column than that's logical. I probably missed the point because I only tried it with two applets configured in CV. But that means there is still no way to easy toggle applets. |

when you click on en entry on the bottom your not actully togling the state of it your just scroling it to the top i find this is a good way of doing this because some of them like the current track one take very little vertical space so that way i can have that and the albums applet shown at once.
p.s. it might help newer users understand this if there was a smooth scroll animation to go with it. |
