Sorry but changing between collections and internet take two clicks with the new layout but one with the tab-based one. That should be enough argument for the old layout. But perhaps you could code something like in the old playlist layout with the vertical opening (respecting the one click).
The path thingie is a no way for me, even with the arrows.
The dockable layout is fine, but not very intuitive.
